Steelers roster news: Pittsburgh makes practice squad move ahead of Week 16

After placing offensive tackle Calvin Anderson on injured reserve on Dec. 14, the Steelers have added some depth back to the offensive line. Per a team announcement, Pittsburgh has signed offensive tackle John Leglue to the practice squad, releasing outside linebacker Ade Ogundeji in a corresponding roster move.

Leglue is a familiar name to Steelers fans, first signing with the team in 2020. He was on and off the practice squad and active roster, even starting five games for the black and gold over that span. For most of 2023 and 2024, he was with the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons before circling back to the Steelers practice squad in late August. Leglue was released in November but now finds himself back in the Steel City.

Ogundeji has been on and off the Steelers practice squad since August, even being activated to the active roster three times this season, recording a pass defensed.

The roster move gives the Steelers an experienced reserve player on the offensive line. Pittsburgh did lose Ogundeji, who has shown some promise, but the Steelers’ outside linebacker depth currently looks like a team strength with five players at that position on the 53-man roster.
