The Pittsburgh Steelers have been bit hard by the injury bug this season. More specifically, the offensive line has been eaten up. Left guard Isaac Seumalo suffered a pectoral injury that has caused him to miss the first three games. Rookie tackle Troy Fautanu also suffered a season-ending injury to his knee.

In light of all the injuries, the Steelers are bringing in veteran offensive tackle Calvin Anderson.

Anderson signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Texas in 2020, playing in all 16 games that season. He spent 2023 with the New England Patriots where he played five games.

With Dan Moore and Broderick Jones as the only healthy tackles, Pittsburgh needed to make a move. Especially if either Jones or Moore have long-term struggles or suffer injuries of their own. Anderson has played in 46 games over his four-year career.
