Bold Predictions Gone Wrong

The summer is over, and it's time to review the bold predictions that were made. Unfortunately, some of these predictions have already crashed and burned. Take Virginia Tech, for example, which was predicted to go undefeated against Clemson. With a 2-2 record and a tough schedule ahead, it's unlikely they'll even be above.500 when they face Clemson.

Another bold prediction that didn't pan out was Kansas making the playoff. With a 1-3 record, it's clear that's not happening. And then there's Riley Leonard, who was predicted to be a Heisman finalist. With only one touchdown pass and more interceptions than passing touchdowns, it's safe to say he's not in the running.

Florida State was also predicted to lose the ACC Championship game to a team not named Clemson or Miami. But with Miami and Clemson the overwhelming favorites, it's unlikely Florida State will even make it to the championship game, let alone lose to someone else.

Some other bold predictions that have already failed include Graham Merz having a better statistical season than Cam Ward and the ACC having a winning record against the SEC this season. While mathematically, the last prediction is still alive, it's unlikely to come to fruition.

It's been a tough summer for these bold predictions, and it's time to move on to new ones.
