The Pittsburgh Steelers have been in search of a No. 2 boundary wide receiver opposite DK Metcalf. There were reports earlier in the offseason that Pittsburgh reached out to the New Orleans Saints inquiring about a potential trade for Chris Olave, and they brought in former Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Gabe Davis for a visit. Even after acquiring Jonnu Smith, though, that need for an outside receiver remains, and a new name has entered the conversation.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings wants an extension or a trade, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jennings was given an extension last offseason and is set to make $7.5 million this season.

Jennings is coming off the best season of his career, catching 77 passes for 975 yards and six touchdowns. Jennings had a terrific performance in Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs, catching a touchdown and throwing a touchdown. Had the 49ers won, he would have had a great case for MVP.
Going from a Kyle Shanahan offense to an Arthur Smith offense would be pretty seamless for Jennings. Both involve a lot of over-the-middle concepts and ask their wide receivers to run block, which Jennings is more than comfortable doing.
