Pittsburgh Steelers get major Terry McLaurin trade news

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been rumored to be interested in adding another top receiver all offseason. They reportedly called the New Orleans Saints about Chris Olave earlier this offseason, but talks went nowhere, as the Saints weren’t interested in trading their star receiver. However, another top name has now requested a trade, and Pittsburgh could throw its name in the hat.

Washington Commanders All-Pro wide receiver Terry McLaurin has requested a trade, per Jordan Schultz.

McLaurin is currently seeking a contract extension. He showed up to Commanders training camp on July 27th, which led many to believe that a deal would be getting done. However, something must have gone south for McLaurin to want out.

This could just be a play by McLaurin and his agent to put more pressure on Washington to give him a better offer, but the Steelers should call, at minimum. McLaurin has been one of the best receivers in the NFL since being drafted in 2018, and he would be a terrific complement to Terry McLaurin on the boundary.

McLaurin has put together five straight 1,000-yard seasons and had a career-high 13 touchdowns in 2024.
