Report: Steelers hosting Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart on Top 30 visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue their quarterback search, though it looks like it will end with Aaron Rodgers signing a one-year deal to join the Black and Gold. However, the Steelers could also take a quarterback at some point in the NFL Draft, and they continue to show interest in a select group of signal-callers.

According to Mike DeFabo of The Athletic, the Steelers are hosting Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart to a top 30 visit in April. Ole Miss also has their Pro Day set for Friday, so don’t be surprised if the Steelers have representation on hand to watch him throw.

In terms of what they’ll do, that’s obviously going to be found out in less than a month’s time at the 2025 NFL Draft. I gave my thoughts on the Steelers’ plan at quarterback earlier on the site, and it doesn’t include drafting one in the first round this year.

Nothing the Steelers have done this offseason would signal that they are taking a quarterback with a premium pick. They will very likely take one late Day Two or on Day Three, but their plan for a quarterback seems very obvious. With the four compensatory picks they are slated to receive, they’ll have 11 draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, which is in Pittsburgh. They’ll trade up in next year’s quarterback-heavy class and draft their guy in their own city. Remember, they were reportedly very interested in Malik Willis in 2022, as well. Doing their due diligence doesn’t mean that Dart will be the pick at No. 21.
