The Pittsburgh Steelers continued their preparations for Saturday’s wild-card matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday, holding their second practice of the week — this time, at Acrisure Stadium rather than their typical stop on the South Side.
Here’s a full breakdown of Steelers injury report for Wednesday, January 8 ahead of the Wild Card.
Steelers injury report: Wednesday (Wild Card Round)
DNP: DT Cam Heyward (illness), K Chris Boswell (illness), TE MyCole Pruitt (knee)
Limited: RG Mason McCormick (hand)
Full: WR Roman Wilson (hamstring), CB Donte Jackson (back), LB Cole Holcomb, DL Logan Lee (calf), OT Calvin Anderson (groin)
Wednesday’s injury report brought some particularly bad news for the Steelers, as kicker Chris Boswell missed practice with an illness, and star defensive tackle Cam Heyward remains out with the flu. Boswell did not have any limited designation on Tuesday for the first practice report of the week, indicating a new development.
Also downgraded on Wednesday was TE MyCole Pruitt, who was limited on Tuesday with a knee injury but downgraded to a non-participant in Wednesday’s practice. Pruitt has managed a knee injury for much of the season, having missed five total games this year and routinely seeing his reps managed in practice. Pruitt has primarily served as a blocker this season, blocking on 75.2% of his 270 offensive snaps per PFF, and has not allowed a single pressure on 26 pass blocking opportunities throughout the season.
Rookie right guard Mason McCormick was once again limited on Wenesday with a broken hand suffered last week. On Tuesday, Steelers beat reporter Nick Farabaugh shared that McCormick is optimistic that he’ll play, planning to wear a brace rather than a cast if active.
Those without any change in their injury designations for Wednesday are several players within their 21-day practice window in return from injured reserve, including WR Roman Wilson, DL Logan Lee and OT Calvin Anderson. Veteran LB Cole Holcomb, in his 21-day window returning from the PUP list, continues to practice in full.
