The Pittsburgh Steelers have been playing musical chairs with their tackles throughout the summer and into the regular season. Pittsburgh played Broderick Jones on both sides, while also trying to see if Dan Moore and Troy Fautanu could play on either side of the line, as well.

Jones and Moore started at right and left tackle, respectively, against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, but Fautanu and Jones rotated in Week 2 on the right side against the Denver Broncos. After a dreadful performance, though, don’t expect to see Jones start anytime soon. On the latest depth chart, Moore is the starting left tackle while Fautanu is listed as the starting right tackle.

Speaking to the media in his weekly press conference, Tomlin said that Jones has the best positioned tackle to be the swing tackle.

“We’ve been [using Jones as the swing tackle],” Tomlin said. “That was going to be his role, regardless of who starts and who doesn’t. He is the most positioned guy of the three to swing, and so he’s been the swing.”

We’ll see what this ends up meaning for Jones’ future in Pittsburgh, and what the Steelers will do at the position when the time comes. However, for the time being at least, it’s Moore and Fautanu as the starters.
