The Pittsburgh Steelers have had massive success with two quarterbacks this season. While Pittsburgh is 4-0 as the starter, Justin Fields went 4-2 in the team’s first six games, accounting for 10 total touchdowns and just one interception in those six starts. The Steelers used a special package of plays with Fields for the first time since Wilson took over as the starter in Week 11 vs. the Ravens. He had three plays, rushing for 17 yards, including getting the Steelers in prime position to run for a first down and seal the win over Baltimore. Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith was asked about Fields’ usage, but was adamant that the young quarterback is more than just a gadget player.
“I don’t view Justin as a gadget guy,” Smith said. “He’s a hell of a football player… putting another dynamic football player out there certainly helped us.”
Smith continued.
“Obviously he wants to help the team… I still view Justin as a premium starter.”

Fields could continue to get snaps with a package of plays, specifically in the red zone where Pittsburgh has struggled since Wilson took over.
